Aurora encounters a mysterious stranger and is attacked by a fantastical creature. The incident draws the attention of the Princes of Darkness, the gods, and archangels, who confirm the creature is a demon that should not be on Earth.

 

Zane, a Shade from the realm of Asphodel, is asked to walk in her dreams to investigate her assault. He creates reveries, a state between dreams and wakefulness, where he can probe Rori’s subconscious. As he uncovers clues to the stranger’s identity, he also becomes entranced by the complex woman whose deepest desires are stifled by her past. Zane is determined to solve the mystery of her assault, but in breaking through her reserved exterior, she forces him to question his own detached indifference that has kept him in Limbo for thousands of years.

 

With the help of the gods, Zane discovers Rori is the key to a twisted plan that is decades in the making. To save Rori and prevent the destruction of the very structure of the celestial realms, Zane must make an impossible choice that could change his fate and everything he thought he valued.
